Bilt is offering a transfer bonus for Japan Airlines Mileage Bank on March 1, 2026, for its Rent Day promo. Members can earn anywhere between a 25% to 125% bonus depending on their Bilt elite status.
While Bilt transfers to Japan Airlines at a 1:1 ratio (unlike Capital One), the transfer bonus will still be a nice addition and expand redemption abilities. The bonuses are based on the following status tiers:
- Bilt Blue: 25% bonus
- Bilt Silver: 50% bonus
- Bilt Gold: 75% bonus
- Bilt Platinum: 100% bonus
Members can also upgrade their bonus by one tier with $135 Bilt Cash. Platnium members will receive a 125% bonus with this offering.
In addition to the Japan Airlines transfer bonus, the Bilt Rent Day Promo allows members to earn double points when making purchases with one of Bilt’s credit cards, up to 1,000 bonus points.
Note that this promo runs from 12:00 a.m. EST to 2:59 a.m. EST on the next day, or 11:59 p.m. PST.

Although Japan Airlines has many partner carriers that allow booking through other loyalty programs, there are a couple of advantages of booking an award ticket directly with JAL:
- Better availability. I consistently notice that Japan Airlines releases more availability to its own members than to partner programs. If you’re specifically looking to book a flight in a premium cabin to, through, or from Japan, I’d take a look at booking through Japan Airlines if you have some Bilt points to burn.
- Award space 360 days out. With Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, you can access award space immediately, right when it gets released. Other programs, like AAdvantage, only get award space 331 days out.
Japan Airlines has an award chart for its cabins. Flights can be booked for as low as the following:

Note that peak seasons and lower availability can drive up the cost; these are dynamic. I do recommend confirming availability and cost before transferring.
This also comes at a time where Capital One is wrapping up its month long transfer bonus to Japan Airlines (live until Feb. 28, 2026), and availability may be a bit scarce because of that. Again, have somewhat of a plan before you transfer your Bilt points.
One of the biggest negatives of Japan Airlines Mileage Bank is that miles strictly expire after 36 months. For this reason, it’s a good idea to only transfer an amount of Bilt points you know you will use. You don’t want any JAL miles leftover and end up with no trip to use them for as they approach expiration.
JAL also has an award chart for Oneworld partner airlines, which allows stopovers. The cost is determined by the itinerary’s total distance.

Bottom Line
With the right use in mind, Japan Airlines Mileage Bank can deliver some great redemptions, especially on long-haul flights in premium cabins. The Bilt Rent Day promo will be a great opportunity to expand redemption abilities; just me mindful of the expiration date of JAL miles.
This transfer bonus will be active from 12:00 a.m. EST to 11:59 p.m. PST (2:59 a.m. EST).
