Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur Opens as Brand’s 50th Property

Those looking to book this hotel should take advantage of the Member Opening Offer rate, which comes with a complimentary breakfast. This rate is available for the rest of this year!

Yesterday, Hyatt announced the opening of the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. This marks the 50th Park Hyatt globally, and the first Park Hyatt property in Malaysia.

This hotel is located on the 75th to 114th floors of Merdeka 118, which is the tallest skyscraper in the Asia Pacific. Each of the 252 guestrooms offers sweeping views of the city with floor-to-ceiling windows.

The Park Hyatt also hosts three dining properties. The Merdeka Grill delivers a modern grill experience with seafood and local produce, and signature dishes prepared tableside by the Executive Chef, Stig Drageide. The Park Lounge offers all-day dining, with traditional Malaysian dining in addition to an afternoon tea experience.

Finally, guests can also enjoy the Cacao Mixology & Chocolate is a chocolate-themed bar with “…cocktails, small batch distilleries spirits and zero proof specialities.”

“The Park Hyatt brand hits a milestone at 50 properties globally, adding its first hotel in Malaysia with the debut of Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur – also marking an important breakthrough for the brand within Southeast Asia and worldwide,” said David Udell, Group President, Asia Pacific, Hyatt. “This makes for an exciting chapter for Hyatt’s brand growth in the region, with three new properties opening in Kuala Lumpur within a year, an expansion of diverse offerings.”

For now, this Park Hyatt is offering a special opening rate for the rest of 2025. To those looking to stay, make sure to book the “Members Opening Offer,” as that will come with a complimentary breakfast.

Otherwise, cash rates seem to hover around $300 and $400, both for stays in upcoming weeks and stays in the far future.

This hotel is an award category 5. Those looking to book using points will be looking at 17,000 points during off-peak, 20,000 during standard, and 23,000 during peak periods.

A Look Inside

I have to be honest, this looks like a fantastic property just by looking at the initial images. I love the look of the warm theme and the high ceiling.

Most standard rooms measure from 570 to 624 square feet, while some deluxe rooms measure up to 893 square feet. All rooms include a 55 inch QLED smart TV, Le Labo bath amenities, and a personal bar.

Suites are much larger, with all of them measuring over 1,100 square feet. All of these rooms are also located on floors 100 to 112. In the additional space, guests can enjoy a bathroom with a separate tub and a separate shower.

This hotel reminds me a little bit of the Park Hyatt Shanghai, which is also located on the top levels of the Shanghai World Financial Center building. However, it does provide a unique theme within the rooms, the intriguing dining selection, and the newer property should make it a must-visit for World of Hyatt members.

If I ever end up in Kuala Lumpur, I’d love to spend some time here.
