Earn Free Night Awards With Hyatt Brand Explorer

A very easy way to earn a free Hyatt night! Read and learn about Hyatt Brand Explorer.

The Hyatt Brand Explorer promotion allows World of Hyatt members to earn a category 1-4 free night award after staying at five different brands.

Any World of Hyatt member can participate, making it one of the most generous ways to earn a free night award. There is no need for elite status or a credit card.

World of Hyatt Brands

There are currently 37 different World of Hyatt brands, totaling over 1,450 properties. Staying at any of these brands, whether paying cash or points, will count as 1 night for the promotion.

The 37 brands mean that World of Hyatt members can earn a total of seven free nights during the account’s lifetime. As Hyatt continues to expand its footprint and brands, this is one perk that benefits members.

Below are the eligible Hyatt brands:

Earning the Free Night Award

There’s no need to register in advance. The promotion automatically runs, and you’ll get credit as long as you stay one night at a new brand. There is no spending requirement or a minimum length of stay.

Note that you also have to book directly through Hyatt for your nights to count towards Hyatt Brand Explorer. Stays booked through third-party travel sites will not count.

You can track what brands you’ve stayed in and your progress towards your next free night in your World of Hyatt account. Log in, go to “Account” and toggle “Brand Explorer” on the left-hand side. You can also view it on the app:

It can take a few days after checkout for the brand explorer section to update.

Once you hit the five nights, you’ll automatically receive a category 1-4 free night award in your account. The free night award will expire after one year (you have to complete the stay within one year, not just book it).

Redeeming a Category 1-4 Award

When it comes to redeeming this award, it’s more about when you book instead of where you book. Since this award is available for use as long as a hotel has availability, you can get more value out of your free night booking during a peak, pricier season instead of a quieter time of the year.

In other words, I recommend taking advantage of these during peak seasonal events, large conventions, concerts, sports games, last-minute airport stays, and any other time where hotel prices are particularly higher than usual.

The hotel category can be found when you search for a destination. You can also use their Find Your Hyatt page and filter by region and hotel category.

Bottom Line

The Hyatt Brand Explorer is a very straightforward way to earn a free night at a Hyatt property. There’s no need for a credit card or elite status, and the ability to participate in the promotion even during award/points stays is a nice plus.

The free night award can bring lots of flexibility, especially when traveling during peak seasons.
