Hyatt Announces Opening of Hyatt Regency Zadar, Its First in Croatia

Hyatt has launched its first property in Croatia as they look to grow in and around the Balkans.

Hyatt is celebrating its first property in Croatia today with the opening of Hyatt Regency Zadar. This property is located by the water and at the heart of Croatia’s Adriatic coast, and is just a short walk from Zadar’s UNESCO-listed Old Town.

This Hyatt Regency offers 133 rooms and suites with sweeping views of the water, in addition to 65-inch smart HDTVs and high-speed Wi-Fi.

“As our first Hyatt-branded hotel in Croatia, today’s opening underlines our continued commitment to our brand growing strategically in the destinations sought-after by our guests and World of Hyatt members,” said Michel Morauw, Managing Director, North, at Hyatt. “The Balkans is a priority growth area for us, and a destination we are seeing grow in popularity for business and leisure travelers looking to experience both beautiful landscapes and rich cultural heritage.”

This hotel will offer various dining concepts, including seasonal, shareable dishes inspired by the Dalmatian coast and Italian traditions and experiences that pair bold design with Asian and South American fusion cuisine.

They also seem to have an abundance of options for drinks, with expertly crafted cocktails alongside an extensive regional wine selection, in addition to a poolside setting with upbeat music and refreshing drinks.

Just by looking at the initial photos, I do like the design and feeling this hotel offers. It’s a mix of old and new, while integrating nature in addition to a Mediterranean feeling.

This dining area is an example. I like the mix of greenery and the high ceiling architecture.

The rooms themselves seem to have a bright theme to them and appear fairly simple.

It’s no news that Hyatt has a smaller footprint compared to other hotel brands. As someone who almost exclusively travels via World of Hyatt, I’m always glad to see them expand in underserved markets. The Balkans are definitely one of those underserved areas, and so it’s good for Hyatt loyalists to have an option when traveling in the area.

The property itself seems very nice as well, so I’m looking forward to reading reviews in the near future. If I do find myself traveling in the area, it’s a hotel to keep in mind.
