In August 2023, Boston Logan Airport opened a new section of Terminal E, their international terminal. They added 4 new, modern gates, a new Delta Sky Club Lounge, and more shops and restaurants. This new section of the terminal is drastically different from the rest of the terminal, and the rest of the airport. I went and took a look for myself on a recent trip.
This is the section before the extension. Take a left when you reach gate E11, and the terminal expands in that direction. Passengers flying out of terminal E can access this area, and passengers in terminal B and C can also walk to this section, although it is a decent distance.
The hallway becomes a little narrow because of a new TSA entrance on the other side of the wall. There are a few seats here and there, and a beautiful view outside.
The high ceiling, the large amount of natural light, and the color signage spanning across the building all contribute in making this area look very modern.
The gates are also designed with a very modern look, with plenty of information displays. There are many seats near by as well.
A duty-free shop, a Hudson, and a couple of restaurants are in the middle. I also spotted a Legal Seafoods, but it hadn’t opened yet when I went.
The new Delta Sky Club can be found upstairs, overlooking the new terminal.
This extension provides a lot for Logan Airport. As Boston continues to emerge as one of the major international gateways for the northeastern United States, this addition of 4 gates will no doubt help out with that role, and they’ve done it with a gorgeous new building.
