Delta has announced that it is again pausing its JFK to Tel Aviv flights, this time through May 19. The airline is issuing travel waivers to passengers for changes and cancellations without penalty.
Delta had resumed this route on April 1, but is suspending it again after just a little over a month. Many other airlines have suspended their Tel Aviv flights in response to the recent attacks near the airport, and Delta is now joining them.
The airline stated that they are “continuously monitoring the evolving security environment and assessing our operations based on security guidance and intelligence reports and will communicate any updates as needed. ”
Regarding the travel waiver, this applies to itineraries with a flight between May 4 and May 25. Passengers must rebook their ticket for a flight on or before June 15 in order to have the fare difference waived. A fare difference may apply for flights after June 15, but the change fee will still be waived.
Cancelling and using the value of the ticket for an alternate itinerary in the future is also an option.
