Good morning from LaGuardia Airport’s terminal C!
I have a short hop to Detroit today, about an hour and a half flight. I’ve previously reviewed Delta’s international economy class and international Comfort Plus products, and I’ll be going over their domestic product here. Keep reading to take a look!
LaGuardia Airport’s Beautiful Terminal
This was actually my first time using LaGuardia Airport since all the renovations. It’s truly a gorgeous airport now.
Check-in was nice and easy. I had to check in a bag, but there were no lines whatsoever. I should fly more on Tuesdays!
Terminal C is a beauty. I’m looking forward to getting the chance to see the other terminals sometime soon.
Read my post about LaGuardia’s new terminal C and see a full tour here.
My flight left from gate 76.
Here’s the aircraft of the day. N387DN, a 4 year old Airbus A321 delivered to Delta back in July 2019.
Delta has a whopping 8 boarding zones (9 if you include pre-boarding)! These are way too many groups. I was in Zone 5.
As I’ve said several times before, long, single-aisle planes like the Airbus A321 and the Boeing 757 have this problem when it comes to boarding. The aircraft has just one aisle to accommodate almost 200 passengers, which almost always leads to a traffic jam on the bridge.
Onboard
I appreciate the IFE screen, even on a domestic flight.
I also had an empty seat next to me. I was on the window.
The legroom was mediocre at best. I’m 6’1/183cm and I’d normally try to grab an extra legroom seat, but I unfortunately didn’t have many options as this flight was booked last minute.

It was a slow taxi to the runway, but eventually, we were in the air.
Inflight
Our flight route today took us over Upstate New York and Lake Erie. The total flight time was around an hour and a half.
Free wifi is available onboard for Skymiles members. The speed wasn’t super, but it was good enough to browse the internet.
Who else loves Biscoff cookies? I also got apple juice to go with it.
They had several other snack options, but I went with my favorite.
The seatbelt sign was on the whole flight. Although it’s annoying, it’s important to keep that seatbelt on during turbulence. The aircraft will keep flying fine, it’s up to us to keep the inside safe for ourselves and those around us.

The approach was also very bumpy. But before we knew it we were on the ground.
Detroit’s McNamara Terminal is also a beauty!
Concluding Thoughts
Domestic flights can be tiring in their own right sometimes, but Delta does things great in many places. Most notably, I appreciated the IFE screens even though this was a domestic flight. Some airlines are getting rid of the IFE on short-haul flights, which I’m personally not a fan of (American Airlines, I’m looking at you).
The legroom isn’t the best, but it isn’t the worst either. It’s manageable on a short-haul flight.
Lastly, the free wifi is fantastic! Hopefully, other airlines will follow suit with this.
