A very early good morning from Boston, Massachusetts! I’m heading down to Atlanta, Georgia today, on board Main Cabin on Delta Airlines. Delta is often regarded as the best of the 3 legacy carriers in the US. Although it depends on the aircraft type, many of their planes have modern interiors, IFE screens, and free wifi on domestic flights. I was onboard an Airbus A321, which had several nice features coming from someone who often flies on American Airlines. Keep reading for my Delta Airlines Main Cabin review from Boston to Atlanta.
I had to check in a bag, but it didn’t take long. Since it was early in the morning, there weren’t any long lines. However, TSA took a little bit of time.
I enjoyed some planespotting before getting on the plane. Here’s an Airbus A220, and an Airbus A321neo, both by Delta.
It’s been a while since I’ve last been on a Boeing 737.
This was my plane, an Airbus A321. I was originally scheduled to fly the newer A321neo, but we unfortunately had an aircraft change several days prior to departure. Oh well.
Boarding did take some time. From my experience, single aisle aircraft seem to board slower than twin aisle aircraft. The widebody aircraft have an aisle for 4-5 seats each, whereas the narrowbodies have just the one aisle for 6 seats across. It always feels like a bottleneck near the entrance of the aircraft when boarding.
Impressions Of The Seat
I was happy to see an IFE screen on a domestic flight. A good amount of airlines have been getting rid of them on their domestic fleet, so it was nice to see Delta keeping them. I watched some live TV while I was in the air.
There was also a decent selection of movies and TV shows. It was less than the amount you would see on an international flight, but considering the shorter flight time I think it’s enough.
The legroom was average at best. I didn’t have a lot of space to stretch around, especially with my backpack under the seat in front of me. It was tight for my 6’1/183cm self. However, the short flight time of a little over 2 hours helped.

We had a decent sized tray table, which did not fold.
Til later, Boston!
Inflight Amenities
I had to remember that this wasn’t a long-haul international flight where they give you eyemasks and other nice items. However, we were given these earphones for the IFE.
Free wifi was available for Skymiles members. This was good to have, as some of its competitors don’t offer free wifi even for domestic flights.
And (I’m assuming) we also had a beverage service with a Biscoff cookie. Unfortunately, I was asleep during it so I missed out. I did have an early morning with a long day ahead, so I was glad to get some rest.
Finishing Thoughts On The Flight
I was pleased to see the amenities onboard this Airbus A321. From the free wifi to the IFE screen, it certainly helped make the flight a better experience. Although the legroom was less than ideal, it was manageable on this short 2 hour flight.
There’s a look at downtown Atlanta in the distance, right before landing. See you in another story!
