Passengers onboard American’s Domestic First Class will soon have an option to enjoy Texas barbecue from Pecan Lodge on select flights.
American Airlines will offer the meal on select Dallas (DFW) to New York (LGA and JFK) flights as a pre-order option for those in First. This offering is expected to begin in February 2026, and passengers can begin preordering the meal starting Jan. 11.
Airline partnerships with restaurants are often popular among passengers, like Delta Air Lines offering Shake Shack burgers onboard. American’s partnership with Pecan Lodge looks to do similar, while giving passengers a taste of its home state.
“As we celebrate American’s centennial anniversary in 2026, we’re looking forward to delighting our customers in new ways that honor unique regional tastes, beginning right here in our home state through one of the most beloved barbecue restaurants in Texas,” said Rhonda Crawford, American’s SVP of Customer Experience Design and Strategy.
The airline will mix up the menu between February and March. The current lineup is the following:
- February: Pecan Lodge barbecue platter. Smoked brisket and smoked sausage, paired with creamy mac and cheese, crisp coleslaw and a side of pickles, onions and barbecue sauce.
- March: Smoked chopped brisket sandwich. Chopped brisket on a fresh brioche bun, served with roasted green beans, creamy potato salad and a side of pickles, onions and barbecue sauce.
In recent months, we’ve seen American Airlines make efforts to up its passenger experience by partnering with Champagne Bollinger and Lavazza coffee. The airline looks to continue this trend with its Pecan Lodge partnership.
