American Opens Provisions by Admirals Club in Charlotte, its First Grab-and-Go Lounge

I’m interested in hearing the feedback for this new lounge concept over the next few weeks.

Earlier this week, American Airlines opened its first grab-and-go lounge, Provisions by Admirals Club, in Charlotte. The new concept for the airline targets passengers who are on the go and are looking for a quick stop or a quick bite before boarding their flight.

This was first announced a little over a month ago. The space is located in Concourse A near gate A1, and is similar to United’s Club Fly and Delta’s Grab and Go concepts.

Access requirements are the same as a standard Admirals Club. Passengers are eligible through AAdvantage and Oneworld status (Sapphire and up), the Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard, or a one-day pass.

“We’re excited to open this new lounge space for our customers at CLT,” said Heather Garboden, American’s Chief Customer Officer. “Millions of customers travel through CLT on American every year and the Provisions by Admirals Club lounge is focused on providing those customers with an easy and convenient solution during their travel journey.”

This lounge is open from 6:15 to 22:45 daily. Breakfast is served until 11:00, featuring pastries, snack mixes, yogurt, and fruit options, in addition to more substantial breakfast meal boxes.

The lounge will then offer all-day offerings from 11:00 to 22:45 with salty snacks, sweet treats, and filling meal boxes.

Additionally, passengers will be able to grab canned and bottled drinks from the beverage station for their flight. Coffee and tea can be found in the same area.

Given the high volume of connecting traffic that goes through Charlotte, this concept of “I’m gonna stop by and grab a quick sandwich before my next flight” makes sense.

As I said in my other post about this lounge, I think this is a cool idea as long as it accompanies an Admiral’s Club. The whole point of adding this space is to give people an option, so the choice to relax and spend time in a proper lounge should always be there, too. I’ll be looking forward to hearing some feedback from travelers over the next few weeks.
