About Shawn Gallagher

Hello, internet! My name is Shawn Gallagher, the founder and author of this website. I’m currently based in New York City and Boston, but I grew up in Tokyo, Japan for 18 years. I have an international family, meaning I frequently made visits to the US East Coast to see family members. This meant that since I was little, I was involved in a lot of traveling and flying (according to my parents, my first ever flight was from Tokyo to Detroit on Northwest when I was 10 months old). I became obsessed with everything that came with it ever since my first memory of it.

I love everything about aviation and the broader frequent flyer world. Airport lounges, boarding, how airlines make money, points and miles, what kind of economy class seat an airline has, you name it. I decided to create Altitude Yes to share my passion for the industry and to have a place to document my trips. I also hope to see my lessons and experiences from over the years help travelers around the world.

All of my photos and videos are taken with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Some of my older posts have pictures taken with my old iPhone 12.
